SYTYCD tour recap

ok so this is my second time typing this because I accidentally deleted it the first time -.-

Last night I went to the sytycd tour in Miami so I’ll give a recap of what I liked and didn’t like and whatever  click read more (:

so, as you probably already know the dancers do not talk at all during the tour. All the dances flow into one another as in when one routine is finishing the next couple goes on stage and finishes the previous dance with the original dancers and then continue into their number (I don’t know if that made any sense to you). It was really cool how they flowed everything together but I really missed the in between skits.  With the skits the tour was a lot more interactive and we were able to see their personalities a lot more. So, I do wish that they had kept the skits but making everything flow was a good idea so hopefully next tour they do a little of both.

Besides that, the tour could not have been more perfect. Total Eclipse of The Heart was the only dance that received a standing ovation along with melanie’s solo.. It was amazing (this word will probably be way over used in this post).

Ricky is really show cased in the tour and I hope that it changes the minds of everyone that thought he deserved to leave earlier because he’s ridiculous, and his family was in the audience last night since he’s from Miami. Jess is another one that a lot of people seemed to have wanted out of the competition a lot earlier and he is also show cased a lot on the tour and is amazing and soo cute but I’ve always loved him <3 

I have also always been a big fan of Jordan but, what I learned yesterday is that you don’t really understand how amazing she is until you see her perform in person. She’s insane and the vulture dance was probably in my top three favorite performances of the night. Love love love her!

During the season I was never a big fan of Melanie and I never voted for her until the finale (not that she needed my votes lol) Obviously anyone with eyes whether you know about dance or not knew that she was the best dancer of the season but the way Nigel continuously obsessed over her drove me insane as well as the fact that they gave her contemporary just about every week. BUT, this girl should have won the title of the god of sytycd not americas favorite dancer because in my opinion she won all 8 seasons. Her solo was the most amazing and perfect thing I have ever seen!! The control she has over her movement is unreal! I could go on and on about her but since you all already know shes amazing I’ll just leave it with, SHE’S PERFECT and her solo was, for me, the highlight of the whole show

I have been a tap dancer all my life and next to contemporary it is my favorite style to perform so the fact that there was FINALLY tap on tour literally had me on the edge of my seat.. Nick’s solo is ridiculous and to everyone that doesn’t appreciate tap I hope you do after watching his performance because it takes just as much technique, endurance, and strength as any other style and he’s incredible!! He also did a really good job filling in for Marko. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see Marko perform but hopefully he gets better soon so that he isn’t left out of the experience of touring and I wish I had the opportunity to have seen him on tour /:

Now to caitlynn, I voted for caitlynn all season so I am a big fan of hers but I did not feel that she was well show cased in the tour…so I don’t really have much to say about her I just wanted to mention her because I love her and she’s amazing and super pretty and ya I wish she was show cased more in the show but maybe it’s just me that feels this way idk

Also, I am so upset that Jordan and Tadd’s bed dance was not included in the tour! It was one of my favorite dances of the season and I expected it to have been included /: 

Anyways, after I waited for the meet and greet. They came out faster than ever because usually after the miami show they have the next day off so they always take their time getting ready to come out and then take all the time in the world to talk to everyone but tomorrow they have a show in Atlanta so they had to be back in the bus by 11:30 which gave them an hour to meet everyone. Honestly, it was plenty of time because there weren’t that many people there but it did seem a lot more rushed than usual. Luckily all the dancers got around to everyone and they were all super nice. Tadd is hilarious! He was also the one that took the most time to talk to everyone and was the last to stay out meeting everyone. The security guards were trying to rush him but he was sort of ignoring them the entire time and devoted that entire hour to talking to all the fans outside.

I took tons of pictures I’ll post my favorite ones here in a little while.. There was also a mini dance off between some people in the audience during intermission and I recorded it so I’ll upload that also..and now I go into my yearly depression of the fact that the season and tour came and went so quickly ): Until next year!
